Sprout
Nice to meet you! My name is Sprout, and I’m the mascot for PRES! I’m a female Northern Cardinal who loves to learn everything from languages, to STEAM. I’m always ready for an adventure! Let’s meet next year at camp!
📖 Sprout's Story
Sprout hatched in Peel Region, surrounded by schools, libraries, and parks full of learners asking big questions. From a very young age, Sprout loved watching people learn new things like, sounding out words, solving problems, and trying again when things felt tricky.
Sprout noticed something important: learning doesn't happen all at once. Sometimes it's fast, sometimes it's slow, and sometimes it takes a few tries. But every effort helps us grow.
With her cozy red scarf and kind heart, Sprout became a helper, cheering learners on, reminding them that mistakes are part of learning, and celebrating progress big and small.
Today, Sprout proudly represents PRES, spreading encouragement, curiosity, and confidence wherever learning happens.
🌿 Inspiration Behind Sprout
Sprout is inspired by the female Northern Cardinal, a bird found throughout Ontario, including Peel Region. While real female cardinals have softer olive and tan tones, Sprout's bright green colour was chosen intentionally to symbolize:
